UK GDPR & Your Data Rights

A plain-English summary of your rights over the personal data we hold, and how to use them.

Last updated: 23 June 2026

Heads up: this is a sensible standard template for a small UK mobile car detailing business. Auto-Glo should have it reviewed by a qualified professional (solicitor or data protection advisor) before relying on it.

Who's the data controller?

Auto-Glo Detailing (sole trader, based at CV3 6JH, Coventry) is the data controller for any personal information you give us through our enquiry form, by email or over the phone.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:

  • Be informed — know what we do with your data (see our Privacy Policy).
  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the "right to be forgotten") where there's no good reason for us to keep it.
  • Restrict processing — ask us to pause what we do with your data while a query is sorted.
  • Data portability — get your data in a portable format so you can reuse it elsewhere.
  • Object — object to us using your data for direct marketing (we don't do automated marketing anyway).
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can change your mind at any time.
  • Rights around automated decisions — we don't use any automated decision-making or profiling.

How to make a request

Just get in touch — no fancy forms needed. We'll respond within one calendar month, which is the legal timeframe. There's no charge unless a request is clearly unreasonable or excessive.

To help us find your records, please tell us the name, phone number and email you used when you enquired or booked.

Complaining to the ICO

We'd always like the chance to fix things first, but if you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

  • Helpline: 0303 123 1113
  • Post: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
